Matt Talbot's
This is a great way to earn a couple of volunteer hours and get together with some friends in a Christian setting. It starts on Saturday morning where you get into a car and drive to Lincoln. There's an hour long devotional type church service at UNL led by UNL and Concordia students and DCEs. After that, you get to go to Matt Talbot's which is a Christian shelter for the hungry and homeless. You get a little lunch and then you serve it to the people who come in from the streets. It's great to meet how the faith in the homeless and hungry stays strong.

VBS
If you're in 7th grade or higher, you can volunteer for this week long program centered around Christ meant to educate the youth in Seward of the Word of God. If you play an instrument, you can sign up for the music volunteers. I can speak from personal experience, this is the best group of all. Even if you don't play an instrument, you can sing or dance. Though playing an instrument is so much better. Anyways, sign up to volunteer!
Summer Horizon
This is very much like VBS, but the it isn't centered around Christ nearly as much. It's a great place to explore new hobbies while volunteering and taking care of some kids. From personal experience, the ones where you explore the Seward area are the best. If you're 6th grade or higher, you can volunteer and get about 20 hours.
